A couple of months ago, we posted about a fun shoot we had up in Canton, New York at St. Lawrence University. The project was focused around SLU’s Hockey coaches, Greg Carvel and Chris Wells, and was especially poignant given their special relationship; they grew up together, played hockey together and, now, coach together at their Alma Mater. During the interview the two men hit on everything from playing together as kids to some apparent moonwalking at the ’92 division one championships, right up to their present day coaching techniques and learning from one another. Having shot the interview itself in the locker room, we were able to score some great b-roll of the two coaches on the ice – a particular highlight for Galileo Cinematographer / Hockey enthusiast Alex Kenyon who kitted up and darted around the ice capturing the action.
The final video itself was released last week to overwhelming response, receiving thousands of views within just the first 24 hours via social media.
